Liz's Diary
Welcome to Nurturing November! The outside temperature has dropped, the mornings and nights are inky dark and it’s a definite change of season. I’ve just changed my wardrobes from summer to winter clothes, reluctantly putting away the shorts and T-shirts and getting out the woolly jumpers hoping the pesky moths haven’t eaten alive my favourite cashmere!
If you’re anything like me, you can’t help but mutter that it literally feels like yesterday, we were doing ...
Welcome to OPTIMISTIC October!
If you read my diary and blog regularly, and thank you if you do, I love to name the month in a very optimistic way! I think it’s because there comes a point in life (the benefit of getting slightly older) when you realise how precious and beautiful every single day is, let alone a new month which always brings something unique and special.
When I think of this golden month of October, I see it through the photographic lens of clear blue skies ...
Welcome to Super September!
I personally refuse to believe that September potentially brings an end to the summer and because we’ve had a pretty wet, often cold one this year, I’ve decided that whatever the weather, I am going to linger a little longer and enjoy an Indian Summer this month! Evidently the term is derived from the concept of a ‘spell of warm, hazy conditions that enabled indigenous Americans to continue hunting’! I’ll take that.
Because ...
Welcome to awesome August!
What a happy month of summer August is. Sunshine, shorts, salads, swimming, seaside and sizzling barbecues! We love it and for Mark and I, our August ends with our 48th wedding anniversary, but starts with glamping as we do every year, a chance to be with friends, enjoying the outdoors and late night chatter around the campfire.
Welcome dear friends to summery, gorgeous July. Even if the sun isn’t shining, I love the optimism of this month. I swim every day and as soon as I get home from work, don my shorts and pad around the garden and house in my shorts and bare feet! Thank goodness for SOLE BALM as this nourishing foot treatment keeps my sandal feet with that ‘just ...
Welcome to the gorgeous month of June. It’s Mark and my birthday month so it’s a double celebration for us and we plan to take a week off to spend at home and enjoy the beauty of a June garden…bliss.
And now the warmer weather has decided to grace us with its presence, we should all be thinking more about our SPF and what we’ll need this season. SPF’s should actually be worn every day of the year, but let’s be honest they really come into their own when ...
Welcome to the marvellous month of May. There is a certain fragrance that hits the air in May that’s unique and delicious. My mum’s birthday landed when Lilac was in full bloom and as a child living in the countryside, I loved nothing more than gathering huge bunches of cow parsley or ‘free’ wildflowers to present to her. To this day I have a love of fresh and colourful produce either growing in pots or littered around the house to bring life and joy to our home, and at head ...
Welcome to AMAZING APRIL and although as a month it’s been given the rather bad press of “April showers” I don’t personally think this is very fair when considering all the great things it has going for it! Let’s start with goodbye winter, hello spring; lighter nights with the possibilities of early evening strolls or bike rides and even an after work cheeky glass of wine outside. Baby lambs dance in the fields, bluebells carpet the woods, glossy tulips look their absolute ...
